LINE = a programmatic sound platform with a strong inclination towards the visual arts and multimedia, born from the desire to take the tactile qualities of audio installations from the gallery space to listeners’ living rooms.

Since 2000 the LINE imprint, curated and art directed by Richard Chartier, has continued to publish documents of compositional and installation work by international sound artists and composers exploring the aesthetics of contemporary and digital minimalism as limited edition Compact Discs and DVDs.

Since 2011 « the LINE label is now its own independent entity, run by Richard Chartier, and separate from 12k. Richard will continue to curate the label as he has for the past 11 years, however, no longer a sub-label, LINE will be forging a new path with a renewed sense of ion and focus, expect some great things from Richard and LINE in 2011. » (12k newsletter, 2011-01)
