    Greetings, people!

I am aware this may have been up for discussion before, but I feel it deserves a rejuvenation.

Name three (3) 12" italo records that are very cheap (price no more than 10 euro), but that you find are must-haves in your collections. Rare or not rare, original Italian releases or other labels don't matter.

I'm doing this since I would like to know what to get now when I'm about to move and the economy is somewhat strained... ;) There are TONS of cheapos I don't have yet or haven't even heard so...

    OK, I'll go first:
    1. Moonshine - China
    2. Robert Bravo - Love Me Like I Do
    3. Buelo Aris - New York New York/Mr. Pilot

Who dares to go next? ;)

We do have a sticky topic of this "cheapos but goodies" but whatever, hm, stuff that is cheap and very good: indeed, there are lots of it

Madigan - Ice Cold Love (this one is even in my all time top 10)
    Sue Sadlow - My Man
    Twilight - My Mind

I think all 3 of them are beautiful songs, I love them as much as my hard to find records. I would like to add Video - Somebody too, this one has been very important to me as it was the introduction to Italo for me when I was a kid, my dad used to play that one a lot back then, these synths sounded very futuristic to me, I'd never heard something like that before in my life back then. Even now, it still sounds amazing, that's a record that I would NEVER sell, even if it's dirty cheap :)

    My three to start:

Doctor's Cat - Feel The Drive
    Scotch - Penguin's Invasion
    My Mine - Hypnotic Tango

  • Show this post
Fun Fun - Give Me Your Love (Remix)

    La_Monte_Old
    Sue Sadlow - My Man

Agreed. Sue Sadlow - I Will Find My Way is catchy too (except for the Yankee Doodle break down bit).

Nice topic working_model, I need to do a cheapo run. :)

    Tabu d'Apache - Don't Believe In Love
    Mike Cannon - Goin' Crazy
Albert One - Heart On Fire

    Tom Hooker - "Help Me"
    Test-One - "Dreamer"
French American Style - "Vagrant Star"

    3 more, sorry ;-)

    Jane Hill - "Radio"
    Klaudia - "For Your Love"
Influence - "You've Got The Feeling"

    Three more from me:

Found Scotch - Penguins' Invasion today (for no more more than 10 euro ;) )
Is indeed great, I Agree with WaxHead's list.

3 cheap records that are cheap but great, in my humble opinion:
    Bizzy & Co - Take A chance
I bought this one because it had an Il Discotto sleeve. Someone had said before that Il Discotto was a great Italo label. So when I saw the sleeve I didn't hesitate. I later found out that is was not a real Il Discotto release, but I really liked the song, and I still do. Recommended cheapo.
Paul Sharada - Keep Your Love Alive
A later Discotto release from 1985. Dirt Cheap, but I really like it. My favourite Sharada song for sure.
Digital Game - I'm Your Boogie man/ With & Without
Vocoder style coverversion of KC & The Sunshie Band song. Really like it. Instrumental With & Without is great too. I maybe like this even better.

    @ Italo-neon:

Swan - Don't Talk About It : as said, this one is great, particularly the instrumental in the chorus part "o-o-o-o-o x2" and the then the synth solo that goes crazy.

I aslo agree on Time - Shaker Shake, very nice and Styloo, which to me is a total masterpiece: not only the instrumental flipside "pretty perversion" is amazing, but, contrarily to what happens to most italo recs, even the vocal version is gorgeous!

this one too is incredibly beautiful, and still changes hands for about 10 euros

This one is nice to have (bought it recently) and still can be found cheap:

Rosko - You Can Go Away

On discogs the genre says "synthpop" but itreally sounds italo disco to me...

B.t.w. I wanna thank "kroko" (also on discogs) for tipping me on this one.

    Tabu D'Apache - Colours
    Parsifal - Carillon
First Cut - Tell Me, Tell Me
Tom Jackson - Rise Up To The Moon (Not really Italo-Disco as much as Synth-Pop, but it's a really nice song)
    Ago - Computer
    Jo Lewis - Hot Love

  • Aftering_at_my_way edited over 14 years ago
sandra robinson - music & motion

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-BeIEtg1P7U

But on the record there is the dub version (If I well) which is really better then this version. Very similar but with little lesser vocal parts and no sax, just the good parts are kept, which is even more heavenly.
Well, depending on what you prefer of course.
A masterpiece, that's for sure, for a little price.
