Foundation to Assist Canadian Talent on Records (FACTOR) 1982 to 1985 / 1988 to 2006 (one of the founders)
Neighbouring Rights Collective of Canada (later known as Re:Sound) 1997 to 2007 (one of the founders)
Radio Starmaker Fund 2004 to 2007

He was also President of the Canadian Independent Record Productions Association (CIRPA) (later known as Canadian Independent Music Association) from 1987 to 2006. CIMA commemorates him with annually with the Brian Chater Industry Award.
