Lasse Tennander is a Swedish musician, composer, lyricist and sometime actor, born on April 29, 1945 in Stockholm. He has a background as a high school teacher, and was hired in the mid-1960s as a songwriter for record company Magnus Uggla's version. Tennander was active in the Swedish progg (leftist) movement during the 1970s, and made his breakthrough as an artist in 1976 with his second album, the more political Alla är vi barn i början.

Tennander released his first album on Sonet. During the 1980s, Tennander began writing songs without political content, which became noticeable with the release of the album Rötter.
