Unexploded

Real Name:

Peter Banner, Jannick Næsted

Profile:

Unexploded is the name of a one-man rock band founded in 2002. Wanting to push the envelope on how rock can sound in the new millennium, Unexploded insisted on doing it with ion.

Taking the time to construct a style of his own, he quickly managed to get the attention of some labels, resulting in appearances on compilations such as Japanese Antenna Vol.1 and The Danish Broadcasting Associations prestigious compilation, Radio Recordings Two.

In 2004, Unexploded was asked to perform at several festivals, and in 2005 Unexploded performed at Roskilde Festival's Pavilion stage. In the years 2006-2008 Unexploded performed concerts around Denmark, amongst others a summer show at Rådhuspladsen (Copenhagen City Hall), until pulling the plug on shows to record the new album.

Unexploded still wasn’t completely satisfied with his sound, and it wasn’t until the end of 2008, that the pieces started falling into the right place and the true Unexploded sound was discovered.

Using his own style, Unexploded's focus remains locked on the atmospheric and the experimental approach without compromising or sacrificing energy or intensity. The discerning listener may notice many details and a huge sound that marks the often quite unusual songs.

Unexploded's lyrics are sometimes personal, sometimes an uproar, and subjects range from crisis management to personal development in a world that doesn't revolve properly. Describing Unexploded's music can be quite difficult, but the nearest genres are synthrock, alternative rock and progressive rock.

Unexploded is a state of tension - a state capable of exploding - exploding of joy, sexual tension, expectation, frustration, rage, euphoria, love, heat, ion and fire.
