Bobby Soxx

Real Name:

Bobby Glenn Calverly

Profile:

Punk rock vocalist from Dallas, Texas. Lead vocalist of Teenage Queers and Stick Men With Ray Guns. He died in Dallas, Texas, in October 2000, around two months shy of turning 46.

Soxx was (unklowingly) the inspiration for the instrumental The Stranglers song "Hot Klub". He was a fan of the band, and after a Stranglers show in Dallas' Hot Klub (in October 1980), Soxx asked a roadie to go backstage. After benig cursed away by said roadie, he returned, and stroke him with a beer bottle (causing him a concussion), and then going on to slash the tires of the band's truck.
