American singer, bassist, songwriter and producer.
Married to Keely Smith (1965-1969).
Founder of Universal Records (1988).
He started as Rockabilly singer in late 50s and was also member of Buddy Knox, but his career as recording artist did not take off.
In 1963 was hired by Reprise Records. Among the songs Bowen produced for Sinatra was the 1966 Strangers In The Night, which went to No. 1 in the US and UK, and won three Grammy Awards in 1967, including Record of the Year for Bowen.
In early 70s, he moved to Nashville, becoming president of several Country music labels.

Born November 30, 1937 in Santa Rita, New Mexico.
