Profile:	American trumpeter and bandleader. Inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame in November 2009. He received 21 Grammy nominations during his lifetime, including winning the Grammy award in 1964 for his version of "Java". Born 7 November 1922 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Died 27 April 1999 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
