Rocky "Rockie" Campbell emigrated from Jamaica to the UK in 1956, bringing his burning ambition to become a successful singer. ed a band, he established himself as a good quality performer around the country and gained notoriety in London's Flamingo and Marquee clubs. His first album "Rhythm and Rock" was Rhythm & Blues, meanwhile he worked as a DJ at "Ronnie Scott's, the most popular Jazz Clubs in London's West End. He linked up with Lindel John and formed a band called "The Cyclone and Travel", touring the U.K. with artists such as Owen Gray, Pat Kelly, Derrick Morgan, Roy Alton and Barry Biggs; established artists like Don Campbell and The Marvels have performed backing vocals for Rockie. |
