Marvin Yancy

American producer, songwriter and singer, born May 31, 1950 – died March 22, 1985. He was married to Nat King Cole) from 1976 until their divorce in 1980. Yancy then pastored his late father's church and recorded a handful of gospel albums, until 1985 when he suffered a fatal heart attack at age 34.

He was also part of a successful producer/songwriter duo The Impressions and many more.
