David Krivoshei (also transliterated as Krivoshe, Krivoshey, Kriboshey), born July 1, 1944 in Tel Aviv, is an Israeli conductor, composer, arranged, pianist/keyboardist, theatrical music director and poet. He began working with the late Uri Zohar's "Our Neighborhood" (1967). in 1983 he founded the Tel Aviv Pops Orchestra, which he directed for 15 years. Krivoshei also founded the Symphony Orchestra in Bat Yam. In 2006 was named composer of the year in the theater as part of the Israel Theatre Awards for his score of the Yiddish musical, "The Cantor of Vilna." |
