I have the 1/2 speed mastered version by Miles Showell at Abbey Road just like this one: https://discogs.cinepelis.org/release/25135999-Queen-Innuendo- The only thing that differs is instead of "Hollywood Records" mine is "Virgin Records". Seems like a European pressing, but can't find it anywhere here....

Among the 2011 remasters, this is one of the less convincing ... The original 1991 cd is a lot better

I've got a copy that literally ticks all the boxes as stated above, except for 1 thing. Mine is black vinyl, not red. Can someone clarify for me?

I love the whole album, but is it just me or is the tracklisting wrong?! At least with my record. A-side is A1, A2, A3, A4, B4. Then B-side is A5, B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B7. Im so confused right now. The albumcover has the correct order, but the record itself when playing doesn't. -

This release sounds superb. Very clear, detailed, realistic with a fundamental, voluminous bass. -

The sound is excellent, but the vinyl is very thin, be careful) -

A Queen revival seemed to be in the air in early 1991 when the band released their 14th studio album, `Innuendo'. In the US, a new record deal had been signed with Hollywood Records (owned by the Disney Co.) who would rerelease Queen's entire back catalog on CD. The prior decade had seen enormous success for the band everywhere in the world except for the States so it seemed to be the right time for Queen's popularity to see resurgence as many current metal and hard rock bands had been gushing about how much Queen impacted their music (Guns N’ Roses being a notable example). Little did the public know that Freddie Mercury was dying; a tragic secret of which only the band and its closest advisors were made aware. Despite the fact that Queen had not toured anywhere in over four years and had not been to America in seven, Freddie's AIDS situation was not common knowledge, though the tabloids speculated. Anyway for the final album released in Freddie's lifetime, 'Innuendo' is as much a mixed bag as any of the later Queen records, though some of the regal majesty that had been missing for over a decade returned on several of the tracks. Queen’s popularity as a singles band continued unabated as `Innuendo' spawned five hit singles, three of which are excellent. They include the aforementioned “Innuendo” (a Led Zeppelin tribute but still very Queen), “The Show Must Go One” (as if Freddie was creating his own epitaph) and “I’m Going Slightly Mad”. “Headlong” was the first single released in the US through Hollywood Records and although it is a hard- charging rocker, the verse is punctuated with a most annoying - ‘whoop diddy diddy, whoop diddy do’ and “These Are the Days" is just too much supermarket/doctor's office easy listening pop for me. “I Can’t Live with You” is another strong quality song but I really don’t love the verses in that one either. There are some excursions into the ridiculous such as a song about one of Freddie’s cats and “The Hitman” which seems to be too tryhard pedestrian hard rock that doesn’t come close to the genius of their ‘70s stuff. I like but do not love this record but it is probably the most complete since ‘Jazz’ and I do feel that Queen went out in style as the full impact of the album would be felt later that year with Freddie's ing..my make-up may be flaking but my smile still stays on…

Other than having to do a good wet clean out of the sleeves, this pressing is fantastic. Freddie’s vocals come through loud and clear! Love it! 🎶

Edited 7 months agoI pulled this out for the first time since I probably got it (inspired by the news that they are about to re-release a completely new mix of Queen I). Music-wise, I consider this the last proper Queen album. Not their best. Not their worst. A pretty OK farewell by Freddie (especially with the last track being The Show Must Go On).
As for this pressing...I guess I got lucky. Mine's not bad. Is it great sounding? I don't think it sounds any worse that the CD would have sounded at that time. Has a slightly dated "sterile" feel to the mix. But holds up and my pressing is pretty clean and clear to my ears.
Now, that said, do note that this is a heavily edited release. 4 of the songs are shortened to fit it all onto one LP. Does that hurt my listening experience? No. Honestly, it probably helps it. I wasn't a huge fan of the overly long CD releases of the era as it is.
By no means a must-have album but for Queen fans, likely one that should be in the collection. -
