Patrick Cowley – Megatron Man

the images on this entry say "R-1001", sleeve and labels; are these faulty images or does the M-1001 have the R-1001 code ?

Very noisy pressing. Have had to run it through multiple vacuum washes and rinses which has improved substantially. But still has loads of crackle & pops.

I bought an unopened copy today (no warping, shrink a bit loose). After 40 years of being unjustly sealed, it's time to let this out. I'll update on sound quality upon spinning. Love the cover of this one.

OK, finally listened to it a few days ago. I think this is the first time I've opened a record that's been sealed for 40+ years so wasn't sure what to expect. Before I found this copy, I almost bought the fancy colored reissue. Boy am I glad I ed on that! Whomever owned this before me obviously stored it with care. This sounds spectacular. The record itself was perfectly flat and there was NO noise. All of my NEW vinyl has some sort of noise, usually minor to moderate. Not only that, but the bass on this pressing was....impressive! Overall very pleased with the sound and very happy to finally have this in my collection.

Ok anyone who says synths didn't sound good until pet shop boys listen to this and feel like a silly person.. Glad I found this man. He's a legend right after moroder.

One only needs to see how many lists it's on to realise Patrick Cowley's Megatron Man has influenced and inspired so many people. This was and is a ground breaking album that's sounds as fresh and innovative today as when it was made in 1981. Patrick was taken to soon from us but at least he left us a legacy we still love and adore.

Never heard of this guy and am very glad I found two copies of this at the Goodwill store in Clermont FL. Recorded it to digital an am very pleased.

I love this song..creative n addictive even for its time n still rocks. Got my feet moving, will definitely
will use it on my mixes. :))

Limited Edition; limited to around 10.000 pressings !

This was limited to 10.000 pressings because the Fusion label threatened to sew Megatone because they owned the rights of Menergy and I wanna take you home.
So: Megatone came out with another album M1002 with Sea Hunt and Teen Planet but WITHOUT Menergy, I wanna take you home.

The pressing is exactly the same as the M-1001 but with different runout grooves etchings.

This pressing is kind a rare and there is highly underestimated.
